All Smithway drivers are provided a three-day interactive orientation with extensive training.

Smithway utilizes TREAD-1, a premiere interactive computer-based training program, to train new and experienced drivers in defensive driving and other specialized training.

To access the TREAD1 Website click on the Pro TREAD Training button, as seen in the example. You will now be on the Pro TREAD page. For drivers you will need to enter your driver code that you use to log with. For office staff you will use your computer sign in. The site ID is 200604 and you can see it in the example. Then you will click on the login button. The courses will be highlighted in blue that are available now. Courses in green are not completed yet. The lessons in gray will be available shortly online but are available at the six terminal locations (example). Call the Safety Office in Fort Dodge at 800.654.0164 ext. 2204 if you experience problems. Remember this is best viewed when using a high-speed connection.
