Online Tracking Services

Smithway provides customers (registered users) with an online truckload tracking system to track and trace freight.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

Several Smithway customers transmit shipment information electronically and monitor the status of shipments electronically in accordance with industry standards. Information is provided immediately and accurately, resulting in reduced paperwork, phone calls, manual data entry, faxes, postage and handling costs.

• Load Tendering - Customers electronically send orders directly to Smithway
• Shipment Status – Smithway electronically sends load tracking updates to our customers
• Freight Bill Transfer - Smithway electronically sends freight bills for payment

Satellite Communications

Smithway has satellite communication devices installed in all company-owned trucks. The technology enables us to advise customers of the location of freight in transit 24 hours a day as well as achieve greater efficiencies in moving freight with direct communications link between the driver and company.
